The Custom Myriad Keyboards
|
The Custom Myriad Keyboards are a range of specially
designed keyboards designed specifically to make using Myriad in
a studio as simple as possible. Available in a range of sizes and
configurations, the keyboards can be tailored to offer a solution to
most stations needs. Each keyboard comes pre-configured with the
most popular Myriad shortcut keys but the programming software is
also included in the box so you can customise the keyboards to your
exact needs.
The Custom Myriad Keyboards are available in three
sizes with only the smallest not incorporating a QWERTY keyboard in
the design (it needs an external standard keyboard).
Below is an outline of each model, the size and
typical keyboard layout.
K500 Myriad Keyboard
This is the smallest keyboard in the range and is
ideal when space is at a premium in the studio. The keyboard does
not include standard QWERTY keys but you can also plug a standard
keyboard in use when needed.

K1000 Myriad Keyboard
This is the most popular Myriad Keyboard and
combines a traditional QWERTY keyboard with dedicated Myriad
shortcut keys providing a single, compact solution that does not
require an additional standard keyboard.

K1500 Myriad Keyboard
The K1500 is the newest addition to the
Myriad Keyboard family and differs from the traditional
keyboards in a number of ways. Based on the same chassis
as the K1000, it shares it's physical dimensions but
removes the QWERTY keyboard in favour of a more
simplified Myriad key layout. The keys are separated
into banks to make as simple to use as possible.
The other major difference is that
instead of using a PS2 or USB connect (as with the other
two models), the K1500 uses a serial (COM) port to send
Myriad Command Language commands to the system. This
means that the buttons will always work, even if you
have 'outlook' open and in focus (and Myriad minimised).
In order to use this keyboard your PC
will need a Serial (COM) port (but USB to COM adaptors
also work) and be running Myriad v3.5.12 or higher.
