Scoop Edit Key Features
|
Scoop Edit is the part of Scoop that the journalists use to
access and edit existing text and audio and to add their own stories
to the system. Scoop edit can actually be broken down in to five
areas. Stories - This provides access to all of the text
stories that are already in Scoop and the ability to add new stories
to the system. Stories can consist of text, multiple audio cuts and
a web version of the story ready to be published to your stations
web site. The Stories section of Scoop includes a powerful search
facility, live updates of the latest stories to be added, full
editing capabilities and a spell checker. The Stories lists all
stories captured from satellite and web sources as well as incoming
emails and faxes. Audio - The Audio
section of Scoop offers access and editing facilities for all the
audio that has been captured or recorded on to the system. Scoop can
use a 'stand alone' Audio Wall or be connected to your stations
Myriad Audio Wall for maximum flexibility and the built in SmoothEdit(tm) audio editor provides all the power you need for
fast, simple and effective audio editing. Multiple audio Cuts can be
assigned to stories so you can let your creative side go wild.
Contacts - It seems a simple thing but you would be amazed just
how useful a fully featured contacts database integrated right in
the heart of Scoop Edit really is. Build and maintain all your
contact's details and group them in to categories to make your life
easier. Contacts can be personal or shared with other Scoop users
making single news contacts database accessible to all the
journalists in your station. Web - Again, the simplest of
concepts but one which we have found that journalists love. Browse
the web from within Scoop, build and maintain a list of useful web
sites, categorised to suit your stations needs. You can also cut and
past directly from web pages in to Scoop stories making the
integrated web browser even more useful. Playout / Publish
- Completed Stories can be compiled in to Bulletins ready for
reading 'live on air' and publishing to your stations web site.
Reading 'live' bulletins could not be easier. Scoop displays the
scripts on screen for you and automatically cues audio cuts as you
need them. You can scroll though the stories, change the bulletin
around and even edit the stories if need be. Publishing a bulletin
to your stations web site is just as easy. If you have
created web versions of your stories then all you need to do is
click on the publish button and your entire bulletin will be
uploaded to your stations web site, with out having to do a thing!
